I grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and attended the University of Minnesota for both my undergraduate and master's degrees. I lived in Venice for a short time and in a small town in France for 8 months. In October 2007, I will begin work towards a Ph.D. in Cultural Studies at the University of Nottingham in Nottingham, England.
My academic interests are postcolonialism, popular music, poetry, and occasionally things that do not begin with the letter 'p'. I am also interested in printmaking, the diffusion of knowledge, hope, pacifism, and solidarity.
I like rain at night, writing letters, reading out loud, sour candy, and universities. For an ongoing list of things I love, you can go here.
Right now: La Mome (a movie about Edith Piaf), A Wrinkle in Time, and The Afterlife by Larry Levis. (June 18.)
